A complete modernisation of the ‘red tower’ (west wing) of Bolzano Hospital is currently underway. The aim is to bring all inpatient wards up to the current standards of modern hospitals. Until now, patients were accommodated in four-bed rooms; following the refurbishment, two-bed rooms are now available, each with an en-suite bathroom. By the end of 2026, the entire existing structure of the ‘Red Tower’ will have been refurbished to house key inpatient wards for internal medicine, haematology, the bone marrow transplant centre, and gynaecology (with an adjacent delivery room and outpatient clinics).
