FH Campus – Vienna, Austria

University campus surfacing with smooth rubber flooring Kayar.

A new scientific and economic campus on the outskirts of Vienna that houses more than 3,000 students. An architecture of great austerity, designed by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, characterised by wide and bright areas and rigourous geometries. The fundamental chromatic contrast between black and white runs through the building, from the articulation of the facades to the interiors: the Kayar flooring is applied in this aesthetic pursuit, in a version that takes full advantage of the natural coir. A natural and distinctive design, granting non-slip properties and a sound reduction of 9 dB. The choice of rubber also reflects the great attention paid by architects to the ecological aspects: the Artigo proposals are PVC-free and with low emissions of volatile organic compounds. Kayar is Blauer Engel certified, in accordance with the international standard for eco-friendly products.
