Library surfacing with Screed and Grain rubber flooring
In August 2019, the main library of the town of Finspång, in Sweden, moved to the new premises in Galleria Kristallen, “closer to the population”.
Architect studio ElinderSten designed a curved, inner wall in natural wood that became a sort of architectural leit motif. The municipality wanted to keep as much of the existing interior as possible, which was a challenge at first, but maintaining the existing furniture became a feature of the project, in the spirit of reuse.
The library features our rubber floorings Screed S03 and Grain HG114, with surfaces of 870 sqm and 114 sqm respectively. As usual, the pairing of natural wood with our rubber floors resulted in a very comfortable and welcoming feel.
