- Entrances and hallways are walked through a great deal, which means the flooring must be resistant to wear.
- At the same time, it must help dampen the sound of footsteps as much as possible.

Any open seams in flooring can become hotspots for bacteria: Artigo rubber flooring for hospitals doesn’t open at the seams, since no plasticisers are used and the flooring doesn’t shrink over time.
