ISO 50001: WHAT IT IS AND WHY IS IMPORTANT

ISO 50001 is the international standard that helps Artigo effectively manage the energy it consumes. It provides guidelines for the creation of an energy management system within the company, with the main aim of enabling the implementation of measures to improve energy efficiency, reduce energy costs and reduce environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions.

The ISO 50001 standard was developed by experts from the national standards bodies of more than 60 ISO member countries, with the aim of ensuring consistency and validity of energy performance around the world.  

The standard also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs of the Agenda 2030 at the points:

  • 7 (Clean and Affordable Energy)
  • 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities)
  • 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) 
  • 13 (Acting for the Climate)
