In the heart of Milan, within one of the most talked-about and fascinating icons of Italian Brutalism, the COIMA Image studio has completed the design of the new offices for the consultancy firm FTI. The project stands as a sophisticated exercise in interior micro-architecture, establishing a close yet respectful dialogue with the original building envelope designed by the historic BBPR studio. The interior finishes play on a contrast of colours and materials. On the one hand, the solidity of the concrete and the tower’s structural lines are celebrated and allowed to take centre stage; on the other, warm wooden inlays and burnished metal details define the contemporary workspaces.
